Q1) Why is it important to test for parent Fentanyl and Nor Fentanyl?

Answer) Parent fentanyl metabolizes into Nor Fentanyl within short period of time (24-72 hours). Therefore, concentrations of NorFen maybe considerably higher in urine shortly after administration in just 1-3 days.

Q2). Does the Fentanyl / NorFentanyl test cross react with Trazadone?

Answer). Trazodone does not cross at >100,000 ng/mL for this test.
